character over reputation

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. -John Wooden
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
When strangers stare because you struggle to manage a va<<ine injury… hold your head high.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
When friends argue that your science is opinion and their opinions are fact… hold your head high.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
When you speak truth and friends & family claim that you are uneducated, lacking a PhD… hold your head high.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
When you bravely share your injury story and naysayers mock you… hold your head high.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
When family loses their cool, realizing you no longer believe in vaccine religion… hold your head high.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
When tempted to respond to the unkindness of others, I’m brought back to Galatians 5:13-15, “…Love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another.” ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

Integrity will outlive the insult. And in the end, the message of truth will hold more weight when communicated with kindness.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
People will be people as long as there are people… But I’m only going to be held accountable for how I respond. Amen?? Standing in truth, with love, is a challenging path to walk… but thankfully we don’t walk it alone.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10 ⠀⠀
