This year’s July 4th felt more like a happy {illusion of} freedom day, โMerica. As my daughter says, land of the free to do as youโre told.

On a scale of 1 to 1984, how free do you feel? โRequirementsโ to wear a muzzle, stand 6 feet apart, follow arrows on the floor… BUT ๐ฃ๐ค ๐จ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐ช๐ง๐๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐จ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ก๐ (๐พ๐๐ก๐๐๐ค๐ง๐ฃ๐๐).
If one is not filled with righteous anger, one is not paying attention. We are instructed to be angry ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ (Ephesians 4:26). As big government targets the church, I pray our response is to worship louder. When it comes to Romans 13, itโs ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ๐, ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ. This is spiritual warfare (2 Corinthians 10), the most important battle we will fight.

We can have all of the freedoms this world has to offer, but unless we have accepted the eternal gift of Christ, we are living in a mirage of freedom. Simply put… ๐๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ, ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐! Itโs THAT freedom which inspires songs of praise, even under the most difficult circumstances. We were never promised that the road less traveled would be easy, only that He would walk through the fire ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐ฎ๐ฌ.
